Scope: I undertook the complete design of a robot control interface from inception to final prototype. The project aimed to create an intuitive and efficient user interface that allows users to seamlessly control and monitor collaborative robot. The process involved extensive competitor analysis, research, hierarchical structuring, wireframing, UI design, and iterative prototyping based on continuous feedback.
Process:
1) Research and Competitor Analysis
- Conducted thorough research to understand the current market trends and user expectations for collaborative robot control interfaces.
- Analyzed competitor products to identify key features, strengths, and areas for improvement.
2) Information Architecture and Wireframing
- Developed a clear and logical page hierarchy to facilitate intuitive navigation and information access.
- Created detailed wireframes to outline the layout and functionality of each screen, ensuring a user-centric approach.
- Ensured the wireframes were structured to accommodate both novice and experienced users, enhancing overall usability.
3) UI Design
- Designed a modern, user-friendly interface that adheres to current design principles and best practices.
- Focused on creating a visually appealing and cohesive design that enhances user interaction and engagement.
- Paid special attention to usability and accessibility, ensuring the interface is intuitive and easy to use for all users.
- Implemented a consistent visual language, including color schemes, typography, and iconography, to enhance clarity and usability.
4) Prototyping and Iteration
- Developed high-fidelity prototypes to visualize the design and facilitate usability testing.
- Iteratively refined the design based on user feedback, making necessary adjustments to enhance the user experience.
Outcome: The collaborative robot control interface received positive feedback for its intuitive design, ease of use, and modern aesthetic. The iterative design process, guided by continuous user feedback, resulted in an interface that effectively meets the needs and expectations of users. The final design facilitates seamless control of collaborative robots, enhancing user satisfaction and engagement for robot control interfaces.
NOTE: As the collaborative robots are not yet available for sale, I am unable to share visuals from the design at this time.
